other section · repair defective or non-working elevator (1001(l), 713 hc)
at the time of inspection the elevator was operating erratically and the following violations were observed: 1)the elevators repeatedly got stuck on floors 6 & 7. -the door to elevator 1 would stay open for approx. 45-60 seconds for no apparent reason; the doors would then repeatedly open and close before finally closing and going to the wrong floor. -the door to elevator 2 stayed open for approx. 45-60 seconds for no apparent reason before closing and moving to another floor. 2) most buttons in both elevators and many of the call buttons at the different floor levels don't light. correct the cited violations. also, it's been reported that the elevators will temporarily shut down without warning. when this happens the digital display which indicates what floor the elevator cab is located on will instead display an asterisk. have an appropriatly licensed contractor inspect the elevator system and make the needed repairs to insure the system is operating reliably in a safe manner.
